ISLAMABAD - Helicopter gunships attacked hideouts on Sunday in Orakzai on Sunday, killing 14 suspected militants, military sources said.
Ten suspected militants were injured in the operations in two areas of the Orakzai tribal agency. The casualty figures provided by the military could not be independently verified and militants often dispute official accounts.
Army and air force have been conducting operations against militants in Orakzai and the neighbouring Kurram tribal region since the beginning of the year.
Meanwhile, four personnel of Tochi Scouts were injured in a roadside bomb blast near Miranshah on Sunday, officials said. A vehicle of the Tochi Scouts was hit by a roadside bomb planted at Miranshah-Datakhel Road.  Four personnel were injured in the incident.  Officials said the FC men were taking ration for the security forces in the mountains when came under attack. No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
