GILGIT- The Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) government today imposed section 144 across the province for one month to maintain law and order situation.

Director Information Department GB, Farooq Ahmed said that decision was aimed at restoration of peace which was disturbed due to certain violence incidents. He said that section 144 had been enforced with immediate affect for next month. Farooq Ahmed said that during this period displaying of arms, rallies and public gathering would be proscribed in all the six districts of GB and stern action will be taken against the violators. He urged the general public to comply with the provincial government orders to help in establishing an environment of peace in the region and remove the sense of insecurity among the people.
