Health Minister launches awareness campaign of mask, social distancing

LAHORE  - Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid inaugurated Lahore Wear Mask Campaign at the GPO here on Wednesday. 

Lahore Commissioner Captain (Retd) Usman Younis, Deputy Commissioner Mudassar Riaz Malik, Post Master General and other officials were present on the occasion.

The “LahoreWear Mask” campaign has been initiated by Commissioner. Health Minister Punjab reviewed the campaign model and gave away first mask to Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.  The Health Minister said, “This campaign shall play important role in controlling corona cases. Pakistan Post shall play important role in making this campaign successful. By the grace of Allah Almighty, Pakistan reported comparatively fewer cases than most countries of the world. Corona is currently playing havoc in neighboring India. For any government, facilitation for its people is its top priority. The idea behind this campaign is to create awareness about the Pandemic. All stakeholders will have to play their role in controlling the Pandemic. Punjab is vaccinating people at a fast pace on its 657 vaccination centers. 

Lahorites will prove themselves be responsible citizens by wearing masks. India is reporting a large number of delta variant cases. 

“We can stop the transmission of corona by 80 t0 90 per cent.  Under this campaign, more than 10 million people will be given face masks. Corona has not gone anywhere and we can protect ourselves by getting vaccinated and by taking necessary precautions. The entire world including India appreciate the way Pakistan fought the Corona Pandemic.”

Lahore Commissioner  said, “In the COVID-19 affected areas of Lahore, more than 10 million masks shall be distributed. “Lahore Wear Mask” is one of the biggest campaigns launched without government expense.
