Pervez Musharraf granted exemption from attendance

ISLAMABAD- Former president Pervez Musharraf has been granted exemption from attendance in judges’ detention case for the 18th time on the basis of his medical report, by Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Islamabad. The case came up for hearing before ATC Islamabad today. The court was headed by Judge Attiq ur Rehman.

Counsel for Pervez Musharraf appeared before the court and presented fresh medical report. Special Public Prosecutor, Aamir Nadim Tabish raised objections over the latest medical report, saying that the accused had been exempted ample times on the basis of such reports.

Conclusively, the court accepted Pervez Musharraf’s plea on medical grounds and granted him exemption from attendance for one day. The hearing of the case was adjourned till August 29.
