Paramedics on strike at PIC

LAHORE - Punjab Paramedics Alliance and Allied Heath Staff Association continued strike at OPD of Punjab Institute of Cardiology on Saturday, pressing for regularization of ad hoc employees.
Dozens of paramedics held a rally from OPD to Emergency to protest against indifference of the Punjab Government. This added to the woes of patients coming from Lahore and various other cities. The participants chanted slogans against the health department. Mian Khalid Mehmood, Shoaib Anwar, Hafiz Dilawar and others said that the government was responsible for the inconvenience to the patients.
Committee made for YDA
Secretary Health Punjab Dr Ijaz Munir constituted a committee headed by Principal Allama Iqbal Medical College Prof Mehmood Shaukat to evaluate demands of Young Doctors Association and to submit proposals for issue of service structure. The committee comprising Prof Javed Gardezi, Prof Khalid Masood Gondal, Prof Waheed, Prof Naeem Kasuri, Prof Amer Zaman Khan, Prof Ghiasun Nabi Tayyab, Prof Samina Akram, DG Health Dr Zahid Pervaiz and President PMA Lahore Dr Tanvir Anwar will meet on regular basis to resolve the longstanding issue of service structure.
