OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Some unidentified persons threw three hand grenades in the house of a retired police officer in Manawan police precincts on Thursday. Some unidentified persons hurled three hand grenades at the house of Malik Azhar Awan, a retired police officer, at around 5 am at a time when the whole family was sleeping in the house after Sehri. A police official said that one of the grenades exploded while the other two did not explode. He said fortunately no one was injured in the incident. Rescue and other officials reached the spot and detected the lives grenades. Police have started investigation into the matter. Woman ends life: A 30-year-old woman, mother of three children, allegedly committed suicide by shooting herself in her house over domestic issues in Phullarwan villagein Burki police limits on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Nasreen Bibi, wife of Mohammad Javed. Nasreen and her husband Javed used to quarrel over some domestic issues for the last few months. On the day of incident, when her husband left the house for his routine work, she ended her life by shooting herself with a 30-bore pistol. Police said that the woman died at the spot.
