UAE charity organisations arrange Iftar programmes

LAHORE - Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Charity Foundation and the UAE Red Crescent have generously funded iftari programmes in the country under the directives and special guidance of Sheikh Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE. Both the organizations arrange these ifiari programmes on annual basis with the cooperation of the Social Welfare authorities in Pakistan. These iftaris are organized for the needy, poor people and marginalized communities during the holy month in Muslim countries around the globe. The arrangement and supervision of iftari programmes are assigned to the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates. In Pakistan, several such iftari programmes were hosted by the UAE Ambassador Ali Saif Al-Awani at many social welfare centres, SOS village, orphanage houses, community centres and educational institutions, including Faizul Islam Anjuman, SOS Village, Kashana Orphanage, Community Centre of International Islamic University lslamabad. More than 50,000 people benefited from Ramazan charity programmes and iftar dinners, which reflect the true spirits of humanity, hospitality and sympathy on the part of the UAE political leadership and its ambassador to Pakistan, Ali Saif Al-Awani. The menu of the iftaris included dates, juices, fruit, rice (as a major meal), chicken and Kabab. It is hoped that these iftaris would open a new window of cooperation and better understanding between the local charitable organizations, centres and institutions with the global organizations, including Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Charity Foundation and the UAE Red Crescent Authority. The officials of the social welfare organizations have appreciated the humanitarian activities especially the iftar dinners for the poor and the needy. They expressed their thanks and gratitude to the UAE leadership, the charitable organizations and the UAE embassy and this noble cause which brings comfort and happiness in the lives of marginalized communities. They stressed the need to have closer levels of cooperation and collaboration between the local welfare organizations and the UAE charities for the greater welfare of the neglected people in the country. They emphasized that local people and charitable organizations must follow the UAE for this philanthropy.They extended good wishes for prosperity of the UAE and its brotherly people. The orphanages children especially prayed for the health and long life of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE.
