Apca curses government apathy in federal budget

MULTAN - The members of All-Pakistan Clerks Association (Apca) staged a demonstration against what they called government’s failure to address their grievances in the federal budget here outside Multan Institute of Cardiology on Wednesday. Dozens of Apca members gathered on Abdali Road and laid mock dead bodies on the road as a sign of protest. They also shouted full throated slogans against the government. Talking to the media persons, they lamented that the government did not increase salaries in proportion with price hike.
They said that the prices of different daily use items registered at least 200 per cent increase during the last one year while they were offered just 20 per cent increase. They warned that the clerks would go on strike for indefinite period if their demands were not accepted.
TOBA TEK SINGH: On the call of All-Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA), the clerical staff of different government departments observed a complete pen-drop strike here on Wednesday.
According to sources, the strike was observed in protest against the announcement regarding “meagre” increase in salaries of the federal government employees in the annual budget.
The cleric association warned that if their salaries were not raised in proportion to the inflation rate by the Punjab budget they would be forced to continue the strike and come out to streets for their rights.
