MULTAN - At least 11 candidates will contest the by-election to the provincial constituency PP-194 as Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) issued final lists of candidates here on Saturday. The polling will take place on April 26. The ECP has also allotted electoral signs to the candidates. As many as four candidates are vying for this seat from their parties’ platform while rest of seven are independent.According to the list, sign lion is given to the PML-N candidate Moen Riaz Qureshi, arrow PPP candidate Usman Bhatti and fan JUP candidate Ayub Moghal. Similarly, independent candidate Habibur Rehman Sanghera is allotted the sign of Bus, Khalid Mahmood Railway Engine, Rao Hanif ur Rehman Tanga, Fida Hussain Malik flower vase, Hakin Sheikh Ghulam Moen Udden Stag, Latif Ansar Lajpal TV, Mian Khurshid Alam Qureshi Racket and Nazish Ali Jug. “This list is final and now no candidate can withdraw, although he can announce his retirement in favour of any other candidate,” declared an official of ECP.It may not be out of place to mention here that the seat got vacated because of resignation of PML-N MPA Shahid Mahmood Khan, who quit his party and joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf along with Makhdoom Javed Hashmi.
