Power distribution companies seek to raise power tariff

ISLAMABAD- Power distribution companies have sought permission from NEPRA for raising power tariff from Rs 2 to Rs 7 per unit in respect of all consumers including domestic, commercial and industrial.

NEPRA has admitted for hearing the applications filed by Faisalabad Electricity Supply Company (FESCO) and Peshawar Electricity Company (PESCO) while the application filed by Lahore Electricity Company (LESCO) is under consideration.

NEPRA said the distribution companies have sought permission for scaling up tariff ranging between Rs 2 to Rs 7. It will however give any decision after hearing all the respective stakeholders.
