Brilliant MUST students to be sent abroad for PhD

MIRPUR (AJK) - AJK Minister for Higher Education and Colleges Matloob Hussain Inqlabi has said that the higher education is among the top priorities of the state government as it has been strives for quality education across the liberated territory.
He was speaking at the prize distribution ceremony of the Department of Home Economics of state-run Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST) at the varsity’s old campus.
MUST Vice Chancellor Dr Habibur Rehman and Department of Home Economics Chairperson Prof Nasreen Tariq also addressed the ceremony which was attended by a large number of students, academic staff, parents and notables of the city.
Speaking on the occasion, the MUST VC highlighted the broad-based plan of the University for promotion of quality higher education in various disciplines harmonious to the need of the modern age. He reiterated his resolve to elevate the varsity to the most coveted position of international universities.
 Dr Habib said that students of the MUST showing distinction in post-graduation would be sent abroad for PhD on the expenditures of the varsity in acknowledgement of the their outstanding performance.

Addressing the ceremony, the Minister for Higher Education said that the AJK government was making all out efforts to provide quality education across the state in various professional and non-professional disciplines. He underlined that the establishment of three medical colleges in Mirpur, Muzaffarabad and Rawalakot and the universities in public sector in AJK stood testimony to the government’s vision for promotion of higher education in the state.
Matloob Inqlabi reiterated his resolve that quality education would be provided to the AJK students in doctorate of philosophy in various subjects. The minister said that government would enable the youth of the entire AJK without any discrimination to attain higher education and play their role in socioeconomic development of the country.
