Pak-England XI to play GCU in cricket match

LAHORE - The Pak-England XI, which has arrived in the country on the special invitation of Provincial Minister for Sports Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, will vie against Government College University (GCU) cricket team today (Saturday) here at the university's ground.
The guest team will play three matches in total, the remaining two will be played against Pakistan U-19 team and the team of University of Central Punjab (UCP) on April 7 and 9 respectively. The cricket series is being organised under the banner of the Punjab International Sports Festival (PISF).
The Pak-England team consists of the players having Pakistani origin. Rana Mashood will be the chief guest during the matches. Manager of guest team Taha Qureshi said that they were very happy with the profound love they received from the lively Lahorites. "The cricket competitions between the two countries will help not only promoting the game but also strengthening the relations between both the countries.
"The credit of all this goes to Punjab Chief Minister Mian M Shahbaz Sharif, Provincial Minister for Sports Rana Mashhood, DG Sports Board Punjab Usman Anwar and their entire team," he added.
Captain of Pak-England XI Yaseen Khan termed his team's preparations satisfactory hoping that they would open the series with victory and stamp their authority on the hosts.
