Master Paints grab Toyota Cup Polo title

LAHORE - Master Paints clinched the Toyota Cup Polo Tournament title by defeating Guard Group/Diamond Paints here at Lahore Polo Club on Sunday. Having half handicap advantage, Master Paints hit six goals to defeat Guard Group/Diamond Paints by six and half to six. Hissan Ali Hyder was declared the best player with his high-scoring five goals while Nadeem Raja added one for Master Paints. Taimur Ali and Raja Samiullah netted three goals each for the losers. Azhar Ali and Zain Khan Khakwani were the umpires. Chairman Evacuee Trust Property Board Syed Asif Hashmi was the guest of honour who distributed prizes among the winning players. In subsidiary final, Pakistan Air Force beat Remounts by six and half to six gaols. Tauheed Ahmad hit five goals for the airmen and Asif Zahoor scored five goals for the Remounts team. Meanwhile, Chairman Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Syed Asif Hashmi has called upon the youth to participate in the sports activities to boost the games and to curb terrorism from the country. He was speaking at the prize distribution ceremony of the Toyota Cup Polo final as a chief guest here at the Lahore Polo Club on Sunday. He said that sports activities imperative for the country and government is spending large amounts to promote games across the country. On a question, he said that he is not interested in governorship slot of Punjab.
