HAFIZABAD - All the teachers of District Public School took out a rally in protest against the arbitrary dismissal of two lady teachers, Aisha Iqbal and Samaira Anjum by the Principal here on Wednesday. The protesting teachers also demanded reconstitution of the Board of Governors. Later, the teachers called on DCO, who is also Chairman of the District Public School, and protested against the unjustified action of the Principal. The DCO assured them that he would ensure justice. Meanwhile, Clerks of all the departments on the call of APCA took out a rally against the non-acceptance of their longstanding demands. The rally led by APCA Hafizabad President Nasrullah Hanjra went through the EDO Education Office to District Complex, demanding implementation of Pay and Pension Commission recommendations and other benefits in the upcoming budget. Use of iodine-mixed salt: DCO Muhammad Asif has called on Ulema, teachers NGOs and members of the civil society to create awareness among the public regarding the use of iodine-mixed salt to save people from different diseases. He was addressing the meeting of Iodine Deficiency Disorder Control Committee here on Wednesday which was attended among others by EDO-Health Dr Asif Qadir Meer, Representative of Micro Nutrient Salt Association and other officers of the Health Department.
