Speaker forms body on CEC appointment

ISLAMABAD - Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has reconstituted the Parliamentary Committee on the appointment of Chief Election Commissioner and members of the Election commission of Pakistan.
Notification to this effect was issued by the National Assembly Secretariat on Tuesday.
The Speaker has reconstituted the Parliamentary Committee in pursuance of clause (2B) of Article 213 read with clause (2) of Article 218 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The Parliamentary Committee comprises Senators Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana, Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan Nasir, Islamuddin Sheikh and Haji Muhammad Adeel. While the representation in the committee from the Lower House of the Parliament is Muhammad Arshad Khan Leghari, Dr. Darshan, Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, Capt (retd) Muhammad Safdar, Nawab Muhammad Yusuf Talpur, Muhammad Ayaz Soomro, Shehryar Afridi and Dr. Muhammad Farooq Sattar.
Meanwhile, the Speaker National Assembly also reconstituted the Parliamentary Committee on appointment of chairman and members of the National Commission for Human Rights.
According to the notification issued in this connection by the National Assembly Secretariat on Tuesday, now the Parliamentary Committee would comprise Senator Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah, Senator Kamil Ali Agha, MNAs Rana Tanvir Hussian and Dr. Nafisa Shah.
The Speaker has reconstituted the Parliamentary Committee in pursuance of sub-section (3) of section 4 of the National Commission for Human Rights Act, 2012.
