Illegal arms, ammunition seized by CIA

LAHORE - Crime Investigation Agency Organized Crime claimed to have seized a huge amount of fire arms and ammunitions in connection with a massive crackdown launched against illegal arms dealers in the City during the last few days. Overall 45 shops of arms and ammunitions were thoroughly checked by CIA under the direct supervision of SSP Investigation Abdul Razaq Cheema and SP CIA Omer Virk. During this crackdown, police took 10 arms dealers into their custody for thorough interrogations while four shops were sealed on charges of having bogus licences. The teams recovered two rifles (8mm), nine rifles (7mm), two rifles (244bore), six pistols (9mm), one rifle (222bore), 99 pump actions, two shot gun (12bore), three guns (12bore), one pistol (25bore), 82 pistol (30bore), 10 revolver (32bore), five gauzy gun, 32761 bullets and 9930 live cartridges. Addressing a Press conference here at CIA Kotwali, DIG Investigation Ali Amir Maliksaid the recent crackdown was launched after the big bosses of police department observed excessive use of fire arms during felony acts. The arrested accused were identified as Shah Khalid, a resident of Dara Adam Khel, Kohat, Muhammad Arshad, a resident of Daroghawal, Lahore, Chaman Mehmood of Kohat, Haji Aurangzeb of Ghauri Street, Mozang, Zubair of Katchi Abadi, Civil Lines, Lahore, Muhammad Saleem of B-Block, Gulshan Ravi, Lahore, Ali Hassan of Hamdani Chowk, Chungi Amir Sidhu, Altaf of Jaranwala, Faisalabad, Fazal-ur-Rehman of Mardan and Sher Afzal of Mardan. The shops, which have been sealed, were identified as Yousuf and Sons Weapons Dealer, Admiral K-R Weapons Dealers, B-F and Company Weapons Dealers, Tariq Ismail Market, Chungi Amir Sidhu, and Hamid Hassan and Company Weapons Dealers, K/11 Tariq Ismail Market, Chungi Amir Sidhu.
