DIG warns against delay in registration of FIRs

islamabad - Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Mir Vais Niaz directed for registering FIRs on merit and without any delay and inconvenience to the citizens.

He directed the SHOs while reviewing performance of various police circles on Thursday to curb anti-social activities. SSP (Operations) Najeeb-ur-Rehman Bugvi, SP (Investigation) Zubair Ahmed Sheikh, SP (City) Ahmed Iqbal, SP (Rural) Hassam bin Iqbal, SP (Industrial Area) Liaqat Hyat Niazi, SP (Saddar) Aamir Khan Niazi and other police officials were also present on the occasion.

The DIG directed the police officials to launch massive crackdown against drug pushers, wine-sellers and those involved in other immoral activities so that the society could be made peaceful. He said that no influence would be tolerated in the crackdown against outlaws as action would speak louder and no discrimination would be made.

He directed the police officials to focus on resolving public complaints and take every possible step to provide maximum relief to the citizens.

Mir Vais directed for beefing up security measures at all important locations and enhancing vigilance at check points.

The DIG directed the officials performing duties at police stations to improve their performance and address grievances of the masses following merit to win confidence and support of the people.

He also directed the police officials for strictly monitoring sluggish and corrupt cops and informing high ups of their involvement in any kind of unlawful activities. He said that members of security and citizens’ committees should be made more active to ensure effective policing.

He said that investigation of cases must be made on merit, warning that no delay in the process would be tolerated. The DIG said that Islamabad Police were determined to ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens and no stone would be left unturned in this regard. He also ordered taking action against alms-seekers and taking strict action against those involved in the menace. 

He also said that violation of Loud Speaker Act would not be tolerated. He asked the police officials to examine security measures in their areas through surveillance cameras installed under safe city project and suggest measures in case of any issue.

The SSP (Operations) Najeeb-ur-Rehman Bugvi directed for equal implementation of law.
