Principals asked to enhance security steps

Rawalpindi - A meeting to review security arrangements of educational institutions in district Chakwal was held at Government Girls College on Tuesday.
Director Colleges Rawalpindi Division Prof Humayun Iqbal presided over the meeting which was also attended by Deputy Director Colleges Nasir Mehmood Awan, Munaza Sheikh, the principal of Government Girls College, and heads and principals of other colleges of the district.
During the meeting, the DC was briefed in detail about security measures taken up by colleges’ administrations to shield students from any possible terror attack.
DC Prof Humayun Iqbal, while addressing the participants, reviewed the security arrangements and asked the administrations to raise the boundary walls of the colleges, besides erecting barbed wires. He also directed the principals to install CCTV cameras in the buildings to monitor the suspicious activities around the college buildings.
“The strength of trained and well-equipped guards should also be enhanced on the entry gates,” he ordered. Later, the participants of the meeting and a large number of students also arranged a walk against terrorism.
The participants were holding placards and banners mentioning slogans against the menace of terrorism and sparkling role of Pakistan Army to wipe out terrorism from Pakistan’s soil.
