FPCCI chief to attend Islamic Chamber moot

KARACHI  - Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), President Haji Fazal Kadir Khan Sherani has left for Turkey to attend the 15th Board of Directors Meeting of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) which will be held in Istanbul from 4-5 February, 2013 followed by the Financial Committee meeting of ICCI in pursuit of the objectives of ICCI to promote intraregional trade and investment among the OIC countries.
Moreover, the President-FPCCI will also be chairing the first D-8 Chamber of Commerce and Industry meeting wherein he will discuss the D-8 action plan and establishment of D-8 Chamber’s Secretariat in Islamabad, Pakistan for the two year term 2013-14. The D-8 Secretariat will provide a platform to the private sector of Pakistan for strengthening economic ties with member countries on a wide spectrum of industries for advancing trade-led economic growth as well as enhancing D-8 intra-trade and investment.
Currently the members of D-8 Chamber are Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey.
