Afghan mortar attack injures two kids

ANWARULLAH KHAN (BAJAUR AGENCY): Two children sustained injuries when mortar shells fired by militants from Kunar province of Afghanistan hit a border village in Nawagai tehsil of Bajaur Agency on Friday evening. Locals and officials of the administration said that at least two mortar shells fired by unknown militants from other side of the border landed in a village of Hasham Charmang, 42 kilometres from Khar, headquarters of Bajaur.
The officials said that one of the mortars round hit the house of a local tribesman and as a result two children wounded critically. The wounded children were identified as Rahmanullah, 10, and Rasool Khan, 14. They were taken to the agency headquarters hospital but later due to critical condition shifted them to Peshawar. The locals reached the spot and launched rescue work after the incident. So for no militant group has claimed responsibility of the attack but the officials believed that militants living in Kunar province could be responsible for the attack.
