Shahbaz may open Chandni Chowk Flyover

RAWALPINDI – Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Zahid Saeed, Wednesday said that the ongoing mega development projects in city including Chandni Chowk Flyover would be completed as per schedule. He said that Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif might inaugurate the flyover in March this year. He disclosed that the widening and reconstruction work of Golra Road, Peshawer Road, would be inaugurated on February 15 while construction of overhead bridge on Chohar Chowk has been proposed for traffic coming from Pir Wadhai more onward to Peshawer Road and construction of an under pass has been suggested on the road coming towards Rawalpindi. Similarly, U-turn facility would be provided on the road slightly away from Chohar Chowk. The commissioner expressed these view during a meeting here, informed Commissioner Office officials on Wednesday. According to them, the meeting was attended by PML-N MNA Malik Shakeel Awan, MPAs Raja Muhammad Hanif Advocate and Raja Shoukat Aziz Bhatti, DCO Saqib Zafar, SE Provincial Buildings Chaudhry Muhammad Azam, SE Public Health Engineering Saleem Raza, EDO works and services Muhammad Azam, EDO Education Qazi Zahoor Ul Haq, DO Buildings Naeem Beg, DO Roads Malik Liaqat Ali and representative officers of WASA, RDA, Sports and other Nation Building Departments.  Zahid Saeed directed the officers of nation building departments to expedite construction work on the ongoing projects to ensure their completion in accordance with the schedule.
