People await cliff-hanging verdict in Avenfield reference

The Accountability Court will announce the cliffhanging verdict against the Sharif family, particularly against the former premier Nawaz Sharif, in the Avenfield reference case at 2:30 p.m. today.

However, the repeated delay in announcement of the verdict are leaving the people biting their nails.

The traffic and chaos on the roads leading to Federal Judicial Complex, where the court is located, seems to reflect the feeling of curiosity and anxiousness among the people all over Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Maryam Nawaz tweeted, addressing the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supporters, that whatever the decision may be, do not worry because, in the past, Nawaz Sharif had faced similar situation before.

Simultaneously, people from the opposition parties also stand anticipated and are looking forward to the verdict.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan pressed upon and expects that the verdict will be announced without any delay. He further stated that the laws cannot mould according to the will of Nawaz Sharif and that already the time on this case has been unnecessarily wasted.

He added that Adiala jail is longing for Nawaz Sharif.

PTI spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry also said that the decision should be based over legal reasoning rather than political.

Likewise, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is also expecting to hear the verdict averse to Nawaz Sharif.
