MULTAN - Anti-Corruption Court Multan has taken serious notice of Anti-Corruption Police Vehari’s failure in presenting challan of a case registered against accused involved in alleged illegal occupation and sale of state lands worth billions in Burewala, district Vehari and sought report on December 9.

The accused illegally sold out the land owned by Irrigation Department in Marzipura Akhtar Town, a suburb of Burewala, on which a case (No, 14/16) was registered against them by the anti-corruption police. However, the anti-corruption Vehari police failed to submit challan despite eight hearings of the case which caused the court express displeasure.

Earlier, two inquiries and as many investigations were held in the case and the accused were found guilty. However, no serious action could be taken against the accused so far. Sources claimed that political pressure prevented anti-corruption police Vehari from taking action against them.
