Transfer of power to Parliament a useless practice: Samiul Haq

DASKA - Ameer Jamiat Ulema Islam (Sami) Pakistan Maulana Samiul Haq has termed the transfer of powers to the parliament as a useless practice, saying that this would not be helpful in resolving the prolonged perturbing problems being confronted by the masses, as the rulers were plundering the national exchequer and were not sincere to the nation. He said that the amicable solution of all the crises being faced by the Muslim Ummah was in the unity and following the teachings of Islam. Talking to the newsmen at Daarul Aloom Madnia, Daska Kalan after addressing a condolence reference held in the memories of late Maulana Feroz Khan Saqib, he alleged that the incumbent rulers were following the White House policies in a bid to please their foreign lords. He urged the Muslim Ummah to forge unity among their ranks and shun their differences for the glory of Islam and curbing the menace of the international anti-Islam and anti-Pakistan conspiracies of the non-believers. He asked the rulers to use their influence for globally pressurising the west for halting the ongoing fresh spell of drone attacks in tribal areas of Pakistan. Samiul Haq maintained that the restoration of 1973 Constitution was an ample proof of closure the doors for the dictators in the country. This step would promote the real democracy and democratic norms and values in Islamabad. He lauded that his party played a pivotal role in the restoration of Constitution. Maulana Zahid Mehmood Qasmi, General Secretary Khatam-e-Nabuwat Pakistan, Maulana Ayub Khan Saqib, Maulana Abdul Haq from Gujrat, Maulavi Abdul Hafeez Makki from Lahore, Dr Ahmed Ali Siraj from Kuwait, Maulana Alam Tariq from Chichawatni and others were also present. WINE SEIZED; TWO ARRESTED The police have arrested two drug-pusher and recovered wine bottles from their possession. Sialkot DPO Waqar Ahmad Chohan told the newsmen that the police have arrested two drug traffickers Arshad and Tariq. They also recovered 1,000 bottles of international branded wine, he added. He informed that the accused brought this bulk quantity of international branded bottles of wine from tribal areas for selling it in the posh areas of Sialkot. The police have registered a case started investigation, the DPO added. POLICE FAIL TO ARREST POS Despite the passage of two consecutive years, the Kotwali police still remain unable to arrest as many as 200 nominated accused declared proclaimed offenders (POs) in the dozens of the cases of murder, dacoity, robbery and other heinous natured crimes. These cases were registered at Kotwali police station and arrest of these 200 accused POs has become a challenge for the police, besides, leaving several unanswered questions over the police performance, in this regard. The police still remain unable to arrest the POs Shoaib Younas, Irfan, Shahid, Azam, Akram, Aslam, Imran and Farhat Bibi, which were wanted by the police in several murder cases. While, other 112 POs and 105 court absconders were also wanted by the police. When contacted, some police officials said that the police department had established the special motorcycle squads one year ago at union council level for ensuring the early arrest of these wanted accused, as the police still remain unable to arrest them due to some unknown reasons. When contacted the senior police officials said that though the arrest of these POs was a challenge but police was making some effective efforts and adopting scientific strategies to ensure the early arrest of these accused, in this regard.
