LHCBA strike against Imran Khan on Sept 1

LAHORE : Lahore High Court Bar Association on Friday announced that it would hold strike on September 1 to condemn Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan for blaming bar President Shafqat Mahmood Chohan of getting money from PML-N government to favour the government in the present situation. The bar also adopted a resolution against the accusation by Imran Khan and resolved to boycott the court proceedings to lodge their protest against PTI chief.
The bar meeting was held on Friday.
The bar also demanded PTI Chief to beg pardon for leaving false allegations against bar President.
The lawyers also condemned the settlement of political issues in the Army House.
Addressing the bar members, Shafqat Chohan said on oath that he did not receive a single rupee from the PML-N government for supporting it against Pakistan Tehrek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Awami Tehreek dharna.
He said that the lawyerscommunity always strives for rule of law and supremacy of the Constitution and never compromised on any personal benefit.
Other speakers including Allah Bakhsh Gonday and Rai Bashir said that the bar members would never allow the character assassination of the President.
