Kurd declines to appear before CJP



QUETTA - Renowned leader of lawyers movement and former president of Supreme Court Bar Association Ali Ahmad Kurd Advocate refused to appear before the bench of Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Monday.
Ali Ahmed Kurd Advocate had to appear before the bench in two separate cases before the bench in Quetta.
Kurd told the Chief Justice ‘because of close relations with you I cannot appear before this bench’. Chief Justice asked: ‘Whether you have no trust in me.” Kurd said the entire country had trust in you but I want to maintain my traditions.  At this, the Chief Justice constituted a special bench for the cases of Ali Ahmed Kurd Advocate and the special bench of Supreme Court would hear these cases. It may be mentioned here that a three-member bench of Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice is in Quetta to hear petitions relating to Balochistan.
The bench would hear a petition on deteriorating law and order situation of Balochistan, on Tuesday (today).
