Child dies after slipping from mother's grasp

LAHORE - A two-year-old child died after slipping from the grasp of his mother in South Cantt police limits on Sunday. Police said Nadia and Bashir were going to attend a marriage ceremony with their child Ahsan on a motorcycle on Saturday night. When they reached near Defence, the child slipped from the grasp of his mother and fell on the road. According to the victim couple, Ahsan sustained severe head injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead. Gang smashed The City Polices Mujahid Squad claimed on Sunday to have smashed a criminal ring by nabbing its three members including a woman. The police said the gang had been involved in heinous crimes in various parts of the city. The accused were later identified as Abdul Rehman, Ashfaq and Zakiya. The police also recovered two pistol, five rifles and cash from their possession.
