Woman gang-raped in Uch Sharif

BAHAWALPUR-A woman, said to be mother of 8 children, was gang raped here in Mauza Qadirabad, Uch Sharif while the police have allegedly registered the case under irrelevant sections to help the criminals go off scot-free.
The locals have protested against the police 'dishonesty' and demanded the Punjab chief minister and the Punjab Inspector General of Police to take notice of the situation and provide the affected family with justice.
As per details, Farhan, son of Rafique Ahmad, a resident of Mauza Qadirabad, Uch Sharif told the media that his mother Rehmat Bibi was abducted by six accused including Sabir, Zahid, Jalal Sapahi, Baqir, Shahzad and Shahid on the behest of Malik Taj.
He claimed that the accused thrashed his mother while abducting her and took her to some undisclosed location where all the accused gang raped her.
Farhan said that he approached the Uch Sharif Police to get registered a case against the accused but instead Sub Inspector Rafiq who is a friend of Malik Taj, started threatening them.
He informed that later on the interference of the local mediamen the Uch Sharif Police SHO Azhar Javed ordered registration of a case. However, the police registered a case under Sections 354 and 342PPC while rape and kidnapping sections were not included in the FIR.
He alleged that Malik Taj who was a powerful personality of the area and his son-in-law Shahid were also involved in the incident but the police did not mention their names in the FIR.
Farhan appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the Punjab Inspector General of Police, the RPO and the Bahawalpur DPO to take notice of the police worst dishonesty.
He demanded stern action against the police officials and immediate arrest of all the accused including Malik Taj to fulfil demands of the justice. He demanded stringent punishment for the accused to provide justice to his mother.
