LAHORE – A man shot dead his 28-year-old son over property dispute in Shera Kot area late on Monday night, police said.
Muhammad Gulzar killed his son Muhammad Imtiaz at their residence in Yousaf Nagar and later surrendered himself to the police. Further investigations are under away.
fake murder call: City police have booked a youth under telegraph Act for making fake murder call at the emergency services (Rescue 15), police sources said on Monday.
Police said that one Naeem made a call twice at Rescue-15 by using cellular phone and informed the police that a man had been murdered in Factory Area, prompting quick police response. Soon after the policemen reached the spot, they came to know that it was a bogus phone call.  The police have registered a case against the youth after tracing his whereabouts. The police have arrested the caller and are interrogating him.
The police receive a great number of obnoxious and fake calls on daily basis here in the City as many people avail this free facility to make the cops fool. The police have begun legal action against the fake callers to discourage such attempts.
INVESTIGATION: the police have begun investigations to probe into the gruesome killing of a 30-year-old man, who was found hanging from a tree in Kahna Area late on Sunday night, police sources said.
Police investigators believed that unidentified killers strangled the factory worker, Muhammad Mushtaq, somewhere else and fled away after tying his dead body with a tree in Kahna area. The police handed over the dead body to the deceased’s family after the autopsy on Monday. A case has already been registered against unidentified killers.
According to the sources, the police are investigating, with no solid clue in hand, to resolve the murder mystery.
Victim family: A Dubai-returned Pakistani national has appealed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Javed Iqbal to direct the concerned police for the arrest of gangsters, who looted his family at gunpoint on January 6, 2012.
Muhammad Arshad Khan told the police that he along with his family members was on his way home from the Lahore Airport on a pick-up van when four robbers equipped with automatic weapons intercepted them near Chatha Colony. The robbers held them up at gunpoint and snatched away cash, gold ornaments, cellular phones and other valuables worth lakhs of rupees.
The Factory Area police of Sheikhupura district registered a case (FIR No 18/12) under section (392/397 PPC) but the gangsters are still at large. The victim family has appealed to the IGP to ensure immediate arrest of the gangsters and recovery of the looted valuables.
