Khan’s bid for ‘monarchy’ stymied by public

MULTAN
Veteran politician Makhdoom Javed Hashmi claimed on Saturday that Imran Khan wanted to establish his monarch in the country but the failure of PTI’s public meeting proved that the masses foiled his plan.
He observed this while addressing a news conference before announcing his support to PML-N candidate Rana Mehmoodul Hassan in PP-196 by-election. He added that the failure of PTI show in Multan also exposed Shah Mehmood Qureshi, who lost his senses during the public meeting and asked the participants to stamp lion in the election. He added that despite threat-like-demand from Shah Mehmood, the PTI chairman Imran Khan did not give any statement regarding establishing South Punjab province. He claimed that Imran Khan was not in favour of new provinces and instead he wanted to dissolve all provinces and create one unit.
Criticising PTI, he said that they had no political agenda and the musical movement was also dying down. He alleged that the PTI hurt him while staying in the veil and as soon as they came out of veil to contest the by-election, they were going to face a humiliating defeat. He maintained that the hidden hand, which supported PTI, also left it stranded. He said that he could confidently claim after the failure of PTI jalsa that Rana Mehmoodul Hassan would win the by election.
To a query, he said that it was not a contest among three makhdooms. “Gillani and Qureshi are makhdooms while I am a public servant and not makhdoom,” he added. He said that the by election had become very important as one Makhdoom made it the issue of his prestige. He said that the masses and media had seen that the chairs were empty in the ground while Imran Khan looked unhappy with Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
Hashmi dispelled the impression that he was candidate for senate seat or governorship. He said that the PML-N gave the highest number of development schemes to this region and those criticising Metro Bus Project were misled people. He said that when he was part of PTI he had said that Metro Bus should be brought to Multan like Lahore and Pindi.
Referring to Judicial Commission, he said that when the Army Chief had become guarantor during the sit-in, the government had accepted all demands including judicial commission but Imran Khan did not show any sign of reconciliation.  “Imran khan told me that the Chief Justice was with him and as soon as the case will be presented before him, he will turn the game,” he added. He said that Imran saw such dreams which could not be translated into reality. He said that he firmly believed that the Chief Justice was oblivious of the whole situation, adding that the whole nation trusted the Chief Justice, independent judiciary and judicial commission.
He claimed that the PTI could not produce even a single solid evidence before the judicial commission and today the masses asked this question that on whose instigation Imran Khan staged sit-in and ruined national economy. He said that why the Pak-China agreements were being made controversial.
