FPCCI executive body meets


LAHORE - Executive Committee (EC) meeting of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) held at Regional Office Lahore under the chairmanship of Haji Fazal Kadir Khan Sherani President FPCCI.  A large number of EC members participated across the country.
There was a lengthy debate on the agenda of economic situation of Pakistan and expressed their resentment on the loadshedding of electricity and gas supply. The House unanimously resolved for the revival of economy and urged the Government to resolve the issues of energy and law & order situation on priority which is badly effecting economy confronting many challenges. Shaikh Abdul Waheed Sandal, Regional Chairman FPCCI and Azher Majeed Shekh Vice President FPCCI emphasised that the industry which has a capital investment of $6 billion in textile only will be eliminated as the industry cannot survive 180 days working and also the exports is badly suffers to the tune  of $10 billion.
Sardar Usman Ghani also demanded emergent steps to control value of rupee and take necessary steps for stabilisation of Pak Rupee. The matter of dual nationally of the Governor of State Bank of Pakistan also came under discussion and members demanded to probe into this matter.
They also demanded concrete steps to maintain peace in the country because investors are not ready to travel in Pakistan due to worst law and order situation. The House also demanded a close interaction among the regional countries to enhance exports.
The Executive Committee has decided to go to the maximum extent even they will not hesitate to resort to strike and long march for the restoration of law and order and against the loadshedding of gas and electricity. Tariq Saeed, Vice President CACCI and Former President FPCCI, Iftikhar Ali Malik Vice President SAARC CCI, Senator Haji Ghulam Ali and Azhar Majeed Shaikh, Haroon-ur-Rashid, Shakeel Ahmed Dhengra, Dawood Iqbal Pakwala, Begum Salma Ahemed, Mirza Abdur Rehman, Zubair Ali and former Vice Presidents, Ch Aamir Ata Bajwa, Mian Idrees, Haji Aftab Barlas and many others were also present in the meeting.
