Tax relief for salaried class to be considered in 2015-16 budget: Dar

ISLAMABAD - Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar has said that the salaried class will have to wait for the next budget (2015-16) for any relief in taxes.
In a brief statement in response to BBC’s SMS, the finance minister said that the government has increased the minimum salary from Rs 10000 to Rs 12,000 per month and it is for the private sector to implement it, as the govt has reminded them of their responsibility towards the employees.
Though, the govt has increased the salary of civil servants by 10 percent in the new budget but with no relief in tax, some of the employees would only get benefit of five to six percent. It is the salaried class in Pakistan which pays maximum taxes.  Talking to BBC, some of the civil servants expressed their dismay over no relief in income tax.
