Bilawal qualifies to become MNA

LAHORE - PPP Patron-in-Chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has qualified to become an MNA as he turned 25 today (Saturday).
The minimum age requirement to contest the lower house election in Pakistan is 25 years. But PPP is not interested in sending Bilawal to the present National Assembly through a by-election if his father Asif Ali Zardari is to be believed.
In a recent interaction with media persons, Zardari disclosed that Bilawal would not contest any election before the next general elections.
On the occasion of his 25th birthday, he would address his party men in Pakistan through a video link from Dubai on Saturday (today). The event was earlier planned to be held in London.
In Lahore, arrangements have been made for viewing the speech of the party patron-in-chief via Dubai video link at 5:30pm at the DHA residence of Sardar Latif Khosa.
In his address, Bilawal is likely to speak on the policy matters of the party as well as on the challenges facing the country.
Senior party leaders have been invited to the gathering at Khosa’s residence. The PPP Lahore chapter celebrated Bilawal’s birthday a day earlier on Friday.
Lahore President Samina Khalid Ghurki was chief guest at a cake-cutting ceremony organised to mark the day.
