“Across the sea of space, the stars are other suns.” –Carl Sagan

For decades, astronomers have dreamt of finding a planet, just like Earth, that is habitable. Through NASA’s Kepler Space Telescope, over 2000 alien planets were discovered to be orbiting a star much like the sun in the Milky Way galaxy. One such planet it Gliese 667Cc which lies just 22 light years away from the Earth. It is four times the size of Earth but its terrain is unknown. It has been recorded to complete one orbit around the star in just 28 days but it is worth noting that it is tied to a red dwarf star that is much cooler than the sun. However, it orbits close enough to be warmed by flares from the dying star.
