Governor Sarwar to preside over IUB’s convocation on 28th

Bahawalpur - Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has appreciated excellent performance shown by Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) in all fields. 
He said that Islamia University Bahawalpur had set an example for its students in providing maximum opportunities for higher education and excelling in ranking. 
The Governor Punjab and the Chancellor expressed these views during a meeting with Vice Chancellor Engineer Prof Dr Athar Mehboob at Governor House on Wednesday. On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor gave a detailed briefing to Punjab Governor on the ongoing teaching, research and development activities in the university. The Governor appreciated the remarkable increase in the number of students, financial improvement and record development projects worth billions of rupees over a period of two and a half years. 
He said that government was providing full support to the higher education sector and more support would be given to the best performing universities. He also lauded the improvement in ranking and quality of education, significant achievements and provision of scholarships, transport, medical and other facilities to the students. 
On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor made a special request to the Governor to preside over the convocation of the university on January 28. The Governor said that he would visit Bahawalpur to preside over the convocation of Jamia Islamia. It may be recalled that Islamia University Bahawalpur Convocation will be held on January 28 at Baghdad Al Jadeed Campus.
