Lindsay Lohan’s Oprah Winfrey documentary will apparently cost the TV mogul $2 million.
The troubled actress is currently completing a 90-day stint in rehab, which she agreed to after pleading no contest to reckless driving and lying to police investigating her June 2012 car crash in Santa Monica, California. When she leaves the Cliffside Malibu facility at the beginning of next month, Lindsay will appear in an eight-part series about her recovery on Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN).
The deal doesn’t come cheap, as OWN will pay $2 million for the privilege according to TMZ.
The website claims the network has been negotiating with the star for four months and wants to depict Lindsay’s struggles, as well as her plans for the future. Lindsay, 27, originally checked into the Betty Ford Center in May, but moved to Cliffside when a patient’s visitor reportedly brought drugs to the clinic. MZ writes the deal was actually made when the star was still at Betty Ford.
Along with the colossal amount of money, Oprah has apparently offered Lindsay some further perks, promising her two assistants and a stylist. Oprah has also managed to secure the first interview with Lindsay following her rehab stint. Lindsay’s mother, Dina, recently opened up about what she thinks of the arrangement.
“If there’s any mentor you could choose, there’s nobody better than Oprah,” she explained in an interview with New York Post.
“This is a great opportunity for Lindsay. We are all very excited about it.”
