Long march mere drama: Munawar

LAHORE - Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Syed Munawar Hasan has said that Tahirul Qadri’ long march drama had ended up in a frightful manner with his agreement with the government in which none of his demands had been met.
Commenting on Qadri-government agreement on Friday, he said that Tahirul Qadri who had been overjoyed only a couple of days ago on the Supreme Court’s order for the arrest of the Prime Minister and had declared it his great success, had finally accepted the script signed by the same premier.
Similarly, he said, Qadri was seen embracing and commending the same ministers and government representatives whom he had been dubbing as former ministers, two days back. Conversely, he said, the Federal Information Minister who had been ridiculing Dr Qadri’ in his talk with the journalists a day earlier, was seen embracing as a fast friend he met after years.
The JI chief said that Qadri had played with the sentiments of thousands of people including womenfolk and made a fool of them. He finally had talked to the government team on the same terms upon which the government was ready to talk to him before his long march, and also accepted the government conditions.
He said that the demand for the dissolution of the Election Commission that had been set up with the consensus of all the political parties, and for the removal of the Chief Election Commissioner, was not only unconstitutional but also highly non serious. Munawar said the assemblies were finally to be dissolved on March 16, at the end of their legal term. He said it was unfortunate that the people thronged at fairs and fun shows but did not listen to those who were their well wishers.
