Sadiq&Ameen

a difference of opinion

S: I am really getting sick and tired of these political parties and their over the top agendas, which they simply never fulfill. People are on the streets again, voting for the ‘best’ candidate to win. We all know what will happen in the end. Pakistan will be the biggest loser. Regardless of how big or small the election is. Why bother?
A: Why such hopelessness Sadiq? The situation is really not that grim. You are talking like you are 70, and have gone through all stages of ever accepting that any change will come. Who knows? In a year or two, we might be shooting for the stars, as clichéd and cringe worthy it sounds.
S: The situation isn’t that grim? Are you serious? Than you and I are clearly not living in the same country my friend. Why are we always making sure that we do not tread on talking about how awful things truly are? Denying it really won’t solve anything.
A: I’m not denying it. I’m just trying to tell you that things will get better. Why? Because I feel that the newer generations are giving all they have to make sure that they do. Through small changes, ones that seem minuscule right now might actually turn into the change we need. Have a little faith!
S: You are talking as if you are on one of those positive thinking seminars, ones that make you delusional and oblivious. Things can only change, if the people in power genuinely try to make a difference. It isn’t rainbows and butterflies. It’s the throat cut real life.
