HED notifies Sahiwal BISE


LAHORE – The Punjab Higher Education Department has issued notification for the establishment of the Sahiwal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), which will be the ninth educational board of the province.
HED officials told TheNation on Thursday that the establishment of the board was under consideration since long and the department finally issued notification to this effect after approval by the competent authority – the Punjab chief minister.
They informed that Gujranwala BISE Chairman Mahar Basheer Ahmed had been given the additional charge of Sahiwal BISE Chairman, adding that the board would facilitate the students of three districts: Sahiwal, Okara and Vehari. It may be mentioned here that earlier the districts Sahiwal and Vehari were included in the Multan BISE, while the district of Okara was included in the Lahore BISE.
The officials further said that the board would hold the upcoming supplementary examinations of matriculation and intermediate. “The process of acquiring an office for the Sahiwal BISE has already started. Funds would be provided to the board from the budget of the Lahore and Multan BISEs.”
