Saad terms Imran’s Raiwind show flop

LAHORE - Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique yesterday termed Imran Khan and Pervaiz Musharraf non-serious personalities, saying people of Pakistan rejected the both “dictators”.

Talking to journalists after inaugurating electronic-ticketing system at Railways headquarters, he said PTI’s Raiwind march was a flop show.

“Imran Khan has not done any magic by gathering few thousand people from more than 180 million population,” he said while answering a question on PTI’s Adda Plot show.

He said Imran was still unaware of politics and deteriorating morality of youth. He said the recent by-polls proved it that people were not taking PTI chairman seriously.

“His (Imran’s) dance party again flopped in Raiwind,” said the outspoken minister. He said Imran at least should avoid the politics of sit-ins at a time when the situation in Indian Held Kashmir was worst.

“Innocent Kashmiris have taken the streets against occupied forces but Imran is busy in his dance parties instead of showing solidarity with them and standing with government on the issue.”

Mocking at the recent social media video in which Pervaiz Musharraf was dancing and singing, he said former military ruler should now only restrict himself for singing songs.

Earlier, the minister inaugurated the e-ticketing system at PR headquarters along with officials of the department.

Saad said that Railways had only 45 reservation offices across the country, but now the facility of ticketing was available at more than 45,000 UBL Omni branches. He said e-ticketing was initially introduced for Lahore-Rawalpindi Railcar and Islamabad-Karachi Green Line Train but later it would expand to all other trains.

Briefing journalists, Director Information Technology Fahad Rizwan said the Railways and United Bank Limited (UBL) had signed an MoU to issue E-ticketing to people two months ago and the project was completed within a stipulated period.

“The passengers can now book tickets though Internet and mobile phones. The charges for the tickets could be paid through credit cards, debit cards, mobile banking accounts and UBL Omni.”

The people will receive a confirmation message comprising all details of tickets including its number, coach number, seat number and date and time of travelling. He clarified that passengers would not be required to have any manual receipt or ticket after going through the e-ticketing process.
