Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid has stated on Thursday that Civil Armed Forces are to be deployed in areas considered to be sensitive, in order to ensure the security during the holy month of Muharram.

A special meeting in the Interior Ministry was chaired by Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid to discuss about law and order during Muharram.

The meeting had representatives of federal government, Punjab, Balochistan, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan law enforcement agencies and Home Secretary Yousuf Naseem Khokhar in attendance. 

During the meeting, Sheikh Rashid stated that the federal government would provide all resources and facilities for law and order, as law and order must be ensured in the holy month of Muharram at any cost. 

He went on to say that the Civil Armed Forces are to be deployed to assist the administration in maintaining law and order.

He added that special measures will be taken for the security of sensitive areas.

“I will also visit the provincial capitals to review the law and order situation,” he concluded.
