2 shortlisted for SSP Islamabad post

ISLAMABAD - The high-ups of Islamabad police and Ministry of Interior have short-listed SP Traffic Mir Vais Khan and Assistant Inspector General (AIG) General Khalid Khattak to appoint as new Senior Superintend Police (SSP) Islamabad, sources informed TheNation on Sunday. Well placed sourced told this scribe that earlier, there were four strong candidates for the post. The sources added, that Mir Vais has already served as AIG Special Branch, SP CID, SSP Headquarters, Acting SSP Islamabad and SSP Traffic. On the other hand, Khalid Khattak who has served in Islamabad as ASP, SP and presently is working as AIG-General. Before assuming the current charge, he was performing his duties in FIA. When TheNation contacted Khalid, he said that he is not aware that his name has been among the candidates for the SSP Islamabad post. I am happy on my present position, however, if any assignment is given I have to perform, he added When TheNation contacted SP Traffic Mir Vias, he said that he has performed at various positions in Islamabad. If I am given the responsibility of SSP Islamabad, I will try my level best to perform as per the expectations of the department and the high-ups, he added.
