Computerised land record replaces obsolete system

The Punjab government has introduced Computerised Land Record Management and Information System that will help in ending the century-old-way of managing land records. PML-N MPA Yousaf Kaseliya stated at a press briefing here the other day. He claimed that the computerisation of the land record would bring malpractice and corruption to an end. He asserted that the new system would help end litigation and reduce work load on courts. Earlier, Vehari ADC Rana Saleem Khan briefed the media about facilities being provided at Land Record Management Information System (LRMIS), saying that land owners can now get Fard of their property within 30 minutes and transfer ownership rights in 50 minutes, adding that the system ensures safety for landowners through biometric data record under the supervision of trained staff besides special facilities for senior citizens and women are being provided at the centre. He said that record of 214 villages has been computerised out of 233 villages are in the Burewala sub-division while record of urban areas would be computerised after June, 2016.
