Sufi singer Iqbal Bahu passes away

Pakistan singer Iqbal Bahoo passed away at the age of 60 on Saturday. He was shifted to a local hospital after he suffered cardiac arrest where he died today. Bahoo began his career from Radio Pakistan and later performed for the Pakistan Television. He was known for singing Soofiana Kalam of Hazrat Sultan Bahoo. His funeral prayer would be offered in Iqbal Town area of Lahore at 5:00 pm. President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed grief and sorrow over the death of famous Sufi singer Muhammad Iqbal Bahu. In a condolence message to members of the bereaved family, the President prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant fortitude to the bereaved family to bear the loss. The President also lauded the contribution of late Iqbal Bahu for singing 'Sufi Kalam' of Hazrat Sultan Bahu, which will be remembered long.
