LAHORE – On the 135th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, a special cake cutting ceremony was held at Madar-e-Millat Park, Aiwan-e-Karkunan Tehreek-e-Pakistan on Sunday.
The programme was organised by the Nazaria Pakistan Trust in collaboration with Tehreek-e-Pakistan Workers Trust. Chairman Nazaria Pakistan Trust and Editor-in-Chief TheNation Majid Nizami along with the activists of Pakistan Movement cut the cake to commemorate the Day.
NPT Vice Chairman Prof Dr Rafique Ahmad, Chairman Tehreek-e-Pakistan Workers Trust Col (r) Jamshed Ahmad Tareen, Sahibzada Sultan Ahmad Ali, Senator Naeem Hussain Chatha, Justice (r) Aftab Farrukh, Prof Dr MA Soofi, Mian Muhammad Ibrahim Tahir, Behum Mehnaz Rafih, Dr Ajmal Niazi, Brig (r) Zafar Iqbal, Col (r) Ikram Ullah and other intellectuals and activists of Pakistan Movement were present on the occasion.
NPT Secretary Shahid Rasheed welcomed the guests and said, “We are fighting for the safety of ideology of Pakistan in the leadership of Majid Nizami”. He said they would try to form Pakistan in accordance with the wishes of Quaid-e-Azam. He said construction work on Aiwan-e-Quaid-e-Azam was underway in the supervision of Majid Nizami and hopefully they would celebrate the next birth ceremony of Quaid-e-Azam in that Aiwan.
The birth anniversary of Founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, was celebrated across the province like other parts of the country on Sunday with fervour and zeal.
Several public and private sector organisations held numerous programmes to highlight the Quaid-e-Azam’s guiding principles of “Unity, Faith and Discipline” for promoting prosperity, peace and harmony in the country and to pay tribute to the Father of the Nation for his heroic struggle for an independent homeland for the Muslims.
Special prayers had also been offered at mosques for the great leader of the Muslims of the Sub-Continent. All the TV channels aired special programmes, while national dailies publish special supplements to apprise the people about the Father of the Nation.  Some public and private education institutions also showed documentary films on Quaid-e-Azam to highlight the struggle of Founder of Pakistan for creating a state for the Muslims of the Sub-Continent in a bid to educate the youth to follow the footsteps of Quaid-e-Azam.
Various speakers at different functions and programmes in connection with Quaid Day said befitting way to pay tribute to Quaid-e-Azam was to forge unity, work hard for the progress and prosperity of the country, following the golden principles of Quaid-e-Azam to overcome the challenges confronting by the country.
Founder of the Pakistan was born on December 25, 1876 at Wazir Mansion, Karachi. He had a vision for the problems which Pakistan would face in the years to come. Though, he lived over a year after the creation of Pakistan, the Quaid wanted to see his country become a role model for other nations - free from corruption, nepotism and hypocrisy.
