SAU students get Ehsaas scholarship programme cheques

HYDERABAD - The management of Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tando Jam on Wednesday distributed cheques of the Ehsaas undergraduate scholarship and other programmes among 102 deserving students.
The Dean faculty of Crop Production Prof Qamaruddin Chachar, Dean faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences Prof Sayed Ghiasuddin Shah Rashdi and Dean faculty of Crop Protection Prof Dr Jan Muhammad Mari have distributed scholarship cheques among 62 students under Prime Minister’s Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship Programme and 40 students under Sindh Govt’s Scholarship Programme for minority students in collaboration with JS Bank at a cheque distribution ceremony held at university’s Senate Hall.
Speaking on the occasion, Director University Advancement and Financial Assistance Dr Muhammad Ismail Kunbhar said scholarships would help students to continue their studies without financial burden.
He urged the students to devote their energies to acquire knowledge and develop skills that would pave a way for a bright future for them.
He said the government initiative of Ehsaas programme was a hallmark as it was reserved for students from low income families to enable them to get higher education.
The Ehsaas programme has special focus on education of undergraduate students, specially girls from underprivileged families and areas, Prof Kunbhar said.
The Scholarship Focal Person Sayed Nauman Shah briefed the students about scholarship opportunities and the ways to apply for these benefits.
