LHC gives 2 weeks time to CCPO

LAHORE Chief Justice Lahore High Court Khawaja Muhammad Sharif Wednesday gave two weeks time to CCPO Lahore to arrest 'Changar Brothers who had killed three innocent youths in Township area at a wedding ceremony. The court had earlier expressed dissatisfaction with the report presented by investigating officer about progress so far made in arresting the killers. Taking the matter on judicial side in view of the inefficiency of the police to take action on matter, the court had called for the appearance of CCPO Aslam Tareen who appeared last day accordingly and submitted a report stating therein that according to record of mobile phone numbers of the accused persons, their location is Quetta and two weeks time was needed to apprehend them. The court accepting the request adjourned further hearing till Nov16. The CJ had taken suo moto notice on a news story about the killing of three innocent persons by a notorious gang called Changar brothers in township. Changar group murdered three young men namely Osama, Shahzad and Hassan on October 24 in Township but the culprits have not been nabbed till to date which has created a sense of insecurity in the public. The chief justice observed that the state functionaries especially the police was paid out of public exchequer and it is expected to perform the duties to maintain law and order and to curb the law breakers. According to the news story, the Changar Brothers are giving life threats to the complainants and the eye witnesses to withdraw the case, while police are reluctant to arrest them.
