2 dacoits held in cop murder case






RAWALPINDI - The city police arrested two dacoits who three days ago had shot dead a police constable in A Block of Sadiqabad police station area.
Identified as Kamran alias Kami, aged 24 and Umair Ali alias Ali, the two hail from Millat Colony and Mokha Sing Estate respectively, have been also sent to Adyala Jail for 14 days after obtaining orders from Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) for their identification parade, said SP Rawal Town Chaudhry Muhammad Hanif at a press briefing here on Tuesday.
SP was flanked by Station House Officer (SHO) Police Station (PS) Sadiqabad Karim Nawaz Niazi and other members of raiding party. 
According to Chaudhry Hanif, police constable Shahid Zameer Kazmi along with another constable was on routine patrolling in A Block of Sadiqabad area when he on suspicious stopped two motorcycle riders and tried to conduct their body search.
However, the motorcycle riders Kami and Ali opened fire on police constables killing Zameer on the spot while the other constable fell on the ground in a bid to save his life. The killers managed to escape from the scene, the SP added.
In a bid to track down the killers, the SP said, police collected the data of the criminals involved in street crimes and robberies, which made easy the access to the killers.
“With the help of the surviving constable, police prepared a sketch of the criminals which led to the arrest of Kamran, who confessed to have killed Zameer. The police also recovered a 30-bore pistol with 4 bullets that was used to kill the constable,” Chaudhry stated. The police also picked up the other accomplice of Kamran on his revelations, he said.
When asked about the killer of the five persons in an inn at Pirwadhai, the SP replied that the police was struggling hard to nab the killer. “We have reached very near to the guest who murdered five hotel employees”.
The SP said that the detailed particulars of the killer had been obtained from the hotel’s daily register and the police was in better position to arrest the killer.
