LAKKI MARWAT - The district administration has decided to engage religious scholars and area elders actively in the polio eradication campaigns to achieve the fixed targets and goals successfully.
It was told at the joint meeting of district and frontier region polio eradication committees held in district secretariat Tajazai on Friday. Deputy commissioner Nisar Ahmad who also holds the office of FR Lakki political agent presided over the meeting.
Among others additional deputy commissioner Jan Muhammad Dawar, DHO Dr Abdul Ghaffar Wazir, Agency Surgon Dr Arif Wazir, EPI coordinator Dr Hafeezullah, national program for primary healthcare coordinator Dr Tariq Saleem Marwat, district support manager of people’s primary healthcare initiate (PPHI) Ihsanullah and district khateeb Maulana Abdul Wahab were in the attendance. 
It was discussed in detail that the active involvement of clerics and prayers leaders would be helpful for the security of polio teams in the prevailing circumstances besides ensuring coverage of refusal cases. District health officials informed that 424 teams had been constituted to administer anti polio drops to 145856 children below the age of five years in the forthcoming drive. 
Similarly, 48 teams have tasked with to run the drive in the adjacent frontier tribal region to immunise 8075 kids with oral polio vaccine”, they maintained.
They told that the health department with the support of district administration, police and other law enforcement agencies had made special arrangements for the security of polio teams.
Speaking at the meeting deputy commissioner Nisar said that the health department with the support and concerted efforts of other stakeholders was near to elimination of polio completely.
He directed the health department to impart training to the heads of line departments on supervision skills to ensure effective monitoring of the fieldwork of polio teams. “The members of polio teams and union council polio eradication committees should ensure that each and every child get oral drops against the crippling disease”, he said.

institutions to train lawyers
Lakki District Bar Association, President Naimatullah Khan Khoidadkhel advocate has underlined the need for setting up institutions in private sector to impart capacity building training to young lawyers.
He said it was so that the lawyers equipped with the spirit of dedication and having command over professional matters could play a role in dispensation of speedy justice to the people.
This he said while speaking as a chief guest at the oath taking ceremony of Almeezan Legal Forum here on Friday. Earlier, he sworn in the new office bearers including patron in chief advocate Haji Zafar Iqbal, president advocate Sardar Ali Khan, general secretary advocate Asif Iqbal and finance secretary advocate Waris Faheem.
Naimatullah and other speakers said that group discussions and question-answer sessions on legal topics would enable new comers in the fraternity to enhance their knowledge and improve their professional skills.
“Taking part in such activities is also helpful for young lawyers to acquaint themselves about professional ethics”, they maintained. “They said that to learn basic knowledge of appearing in courts to pursue their cases in a better way was essential for young lawyers.
They told that the lawyers equipped with the skills of increasing knowledge, case study and preparation, command over convincing courts through strong arguments and dedication would succeed in their practical and professional life.
“With possessing such skills and qualities the members of legal fraternity can also play an important role in supremacy of law and provision of prompt justice to the litigants”, they said. The bar president also announced Rs 20,000 for Almeezan forum and called upon the young and senior lawyers to attain its membership to improve their capacity and professional skills.
