RAWALPINDI - Speakers at a meeting on Friday showed their great concern over water-borne diseases which, in their views, are on the rise in twin cities due to the negligence of Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) as well as other authorities concerned. The meeting was held by Chairman of Pakistan Amn Party (PAP) Haji Mohammad Gulzar Awan in Amn House, Peshawar Road, which was attended by noted social workers Malik Arshad, Syed Atif Raza, Athar Hussain and party activists. Haji Gulzar said that he had visited various localities of NA-55 in connection with his election campaign and faced a single question by the residents that who would be the responsible for this grave situation? He said that with the humid weather to approach, water-borne diseases like viral hepatitis A and E, gastroenteritis, typhoid, abdominal problems, different types of fever, cholera, dysentery, E-coli diarrhea and others would get worsen if the authorities concerned did not pay heed to this direction.
